Step‑by‑Step guide to install Microsoft 365 on a Windows PC
🖥️ Step 1: Open the Microsoft 365 website
- Open any web browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox)
- Go to
https://www.office.com - Click Sign in
🔐 Step 2: Sign in to your account
- Enter your Microsoft 365 email address
- Click Next
- Enter your password
- Complete two‑factor authentication if prompted
⬇️ Step 3: Download Microsoft 365
- After signing in, you will see the Microsoft 365 home page
- Click Install (top‑right corner)
- Select Install Microsoft 365
- The installer file will download (usually named something like
OfficeSetup.exe)
▶️ Step 4: Run the installer
- Open your Downloads folder
- Double‑click OfficeSetup.exe
- If Windows asks “Do you want to allow this app to make changes?”, click Yes
⏳ Step 5: Let Microsoft 365 install
- The installation runs automatically
Apps included:
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Outlook
- OneNote
- Teams (work accounts)
- This can take 5–15 minutes depending on your internet speed
